Four New Jersey Teens to Be Named in Honor of Their Courageous Battle against Cancer
Beauty Foundation Friends To Host 2nd Annual Dance-A-Thon in Monmouth County
MARLBORO, N.J., Oct 18, 2011 (BUSINESS WIRE) — Four New Jersey teenagers will be honored with the Teen Courage Award for their exemplary battle against cancer at The Beauty Foundation Friends (BFF) 2nd annual Dance-A-Thon fundraiser on Friday, November 25, 2011.
The Beauty Foundation Friends, a fast growing army consisting of hundreds of Monmouth county teens, was founded last year to raise money, provide friendship and empower teens and children who are actively fighting cancer. For the first time, they will celebrate the strength and determination of its following honorees:
- Lily Daneman, 11-year-old Little Silver resident and survivor of Ewing’s sarcoma.
- Sydney Becker, 13-year-old Livingston resident battling Osteosarcoma.
- Casey Fisher, 17-year-old Keyport resident battling Tcell acute lymnoblastic leukemia.
- Kyle Jachim, 17-year-old Metuchen resident battling T-Cell Lymphoma.
“We believe our first Teen Courage recipients embody everything our organization stands for. These teens have been selected for their outstanding fundraising efforts, positive outlook, and their ability to be a role model for teens who are fighting cancer,” said the six BFF founders Carly and Nicole Berns, Kyle and Jackie Ceraolo, and Ben and Erica Palmieri.
The Beauty Foundation Friends also has several new initiatives under way, including a friendship program and several holiday initiatives, which will empower teenagers and families battling cancer by enriching their overall lifestyle and helping to offset the economic hardships resulting from cancer treatment. The BFF’s raised more than $30,000 in 30 days from last year’s event, primarily through social media fundraising efforts on Facebook and Twitter, as well as through traditional townhall leadership meetings in advance of its first Dance-A-Thon fundraiser.
Now in it’s second year, the Dance-A-Thon is the BFF’s largest annual fundraising initiative. The Dance-A-Thon will be held at Dance Attitudes in Marlboro, NJ, with generous support by local vendors including music and entertainment from Unique Musique and The Main Event, and catering by several local restaurants. The upcoming event is widely supported by the local schools athletic departments, members of the teaching staff and administration. Please join us for an evening of dancing, food and fun.
